Whether your pet needs a routine spay or neuter, a soft tissue procedure, or a more complex surgical intervention, our veterinarians take every precaution to ensure his or her comfort and safety from start to finish. We're here to walk you through the process every step of the way, so you can feel confident your furry friend is in good hands.
General & Advanced Surgery
Our Fourmile Veterinary Clinic doctors have a great deal of experience in general and advanced surgeries, from spay and neuter operations to a variety of soft tissue and orthopedic surgical procedures, for both small and large animals.
Our facility is equipped with separate “sterile procedure only” surgery suites with heated tables for maximum cleanliness and comfort. We utilize electronic anesthesia monitoring to closely track heart rate, blood pressure, and blood oxygenation throughout the entirety of any procedure involving anesthesia.
If you have a question about whether we offer a particular procedure or simply want more information, just give us a call.
Anesthesia & Monitoring
As pet owners ourselves, we understand the thought of your pet undergoing anesthesia is stressful. Fortunately, developments in medicine have made modern anesthesia extremely safe, but we recognize anesthesia carries some risk. That’s why we do everything we can to maximize your pet’s safety under anesthesia. Prior to surgery, we consider your pet’s individual health to determine if the anesthesia is safe for them, and during surgery, we continuously monitor your pet’s heart rate, blood pressure, and blood oxygenation.
Spay/Neuter Procedure
Spay and neuter surgeries reduce sexual instincts that lead to undesirable behaviors, lessen the risk for infection and disease, help control pet overpopulation, and promote an all-around better companion for you and your family! The doctors at Fourmile Veterinary Clinic are highly experienced in performing these invaluable surgeries! Every procedure is performed with maximum safety and attention focused on your pet from sedation to recovery.
Large Animal Surgery
Our facility is fully equipped for large animal surgery, with a padded surgery and recovery room for equine and small ruminants and an indoor head catch for bovine procedures. Just as with our small animal patients, we take every precaution to ensure the safety of the horses and livestock we treat. Your animal’s vitals will be closely monitored throughout surgery, and we will design an appropriate pain management plan to ensure your animal’s comfort following surgery.
